A relative was scammed

Help them act quickly, without blame.

Free for everyone. If you are in danger right now, call 911.

  1. 1.Talk calmly

Scammers are professionals and target everyone. Reassure them, then help them stop any payments still in progress.

  2. 2.Call their bank together

Use the number on the back of their card. Ask the bank to stop or reverse payments and to add a fraud alert.

  3. 3.Get free help

Trained volunteers can talk them through what to do next.

  4. 4.Report it

  5. 5.If they shared personal details, freeze their credit

A freeze is free and stops new accounts being opened in their name.

  6. 6.File a police report

Call the local police non-emergency line.
